08h30-10h30 Atelier : ROP: cause / screening / treatment (EN)

Résumé : Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is one of severe complication of premature birth. Improved survival rate of the extremely and very preterm born infants result in an increase of ROP disease, screening necessity, and treatment applications. ROP screening requires knowledge of the disease, ICROP classification, experienced skills, and awareness of the ROP sequela. The workshop will give and introduction to ROP, discuss cases, and provide clinical skills ion to experienced and unexperienced workshop participants.

Appel d'offre "My Cataract Journey" Video Award : Dans le cadre de l'atelier YSO "My Cataract Journey", nous offrons la possibilité aux jeunes chirurgiens de présenter en direct une vidéo d'une de leur opération  de cataracte particulièrement exigeante (technique particulière, cas complexe ou complication) et d'en discuter aves des experts dans une atmosphère instructive et conviviale. 

Les vidéos peuvent être envoyées dès maintenant et jusqu'au 30.06.2025 à young-ophtha@imk.ch (via des services cloud comme Dropbox, Google Drive ou WeTransfer). Veuillez indiquer votre nom et votre position actuelle, et joindre une photo d'identité. Le comité directeur de l'YSO choisira les 6 meilleures vidéos parmi celles qui lui auront été soumises.

Résumé :This hands-on Wetlab offers training for both beginner and advanced participants to discover all about Cataract Surgery. Groups of 2-3 participants will rotate through several practical stations, guided by instructors. Advanced participants will focus on complications management, including handling capsule rupture, using the Malyugin ring,.. Beginner participants will focus on foundational skills. Live guidance and interactive "Time Outs” will be led by Dr. Ivo Ferreira, ensuring a comprehensive and practical experience for all skill levels.

Résumé partie laser rétinien : Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation (L.A.S.E.R.) are nowadays used in all areas of ophthalmology. This workshop focuses on laser treatments of the retina and shows important information about the theoretical basics, obligatory laser safety and treatment recommendations. During the practical "hands-on" parts, the participants have the chance to carry out laser treatments with real state-of-the-art laser devices on model eyes. The lecturers, Katrin F. Fasler and Daniel R. Muth, give individual and practical tips. The aim of the workshop is to make laser newbies fit(ter) for everyday laser use and to convey the usefulness of this fascinating technology.

Résumé : Intravitreal injection therapies represent a growing part of our daily practice. In order to maintain our high Swiss standards with very good results in terms of visual outcome and treatment safety, it is essential that not only prospective injectors but also those who already use these treatments keep themselves updated regarding treatment indications, treatment regimens, available medications including their administrative aspects and important safety aspects. This course includes the following apsetcs of intravitreal therapies: overview of all medications approved in Switzerland for intravitreal treatment, including their approval restrictions and administrative aspects, detailed discussion of diseases with approved intravitreal treatment including current treatment guidelines as well as tips and tricks for difficult cases, current Swiss guidelines/requirements on applications, sites, personnel etc., and patient education, early recognition and management of side effects

Groupes cibles: All ophthalmologists who carry out or indicate intravitreal injections, including colleagues newly starting intravitreal injections, experienced injectors who want an update, FEBO exam candidates for a complete update on the topic, colleagues who directly provide indications for injection/re-injection and therefore need to be up-to-date on indicationsm, re-embursement situations, treatment regimens and side effects
